Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release


  On Sunday April 24th at about 0315 hrs., a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a vehicle stopped partway on the roadway on St. Martins Neck Rd. north of Rt. 90. The vehicle was running and the driver was asleep in the driver’s seat. The Deputy woke the driver and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath. The driver was identified as Ralphell Jamison 27 of Salisbury Md. Mr. Jamison did poorly on field test and was arrested. Mr. Jamison was charged with Driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol. Mr. Jamison was released pending trial. 
                                                                                                                                                                                                    
 On April 24, 2011 around 11pm, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to Frontier Town Campground for a domestic assault.  After a short investigation, the suspect was identified as Sammy Ramos 43 of Bethesda Md. Mr. Ramos was arrested for assaulting his wife and charged with second degree assault. Mr. Ramos was seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on Personal Recognizance. 

   On April 25, 2011 at 10:20 p.m. the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the area of Old Furnace Road for a report of shots fired. Deputies in the area along with Natural Resources Police stopped a truck on Sand Road. Upon approach of the vehicle, a rifle was located in the front seat of the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle both admitted to shooting at County Road signs with the rifle and were subsequently placed under arrest for Malicious Destruction of Property. A subsequent search of the vehicle found suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Both the driver Cory Wodkins 19 of Snow Hill Md. and passenger, Syler Arvey 19 of Snow Hill Md., were charged with malicious destruction of 2 County Road signs and Poss. of marijuana. Additional charges were filed by the Natural Resources Police for the Weapons violation. Both were taken before a judicial officer and released pending trial.
